Awakeri School

Room 14

Who are we?
We are year sevens and year 8's mixed together in the talented, responsible and fun class of Rm14. Our awesome teachers are Mr Hawkes and Miss Robb.

Class NEWS

4.12.09 What's sup people. Today we have some people doing radio broadcasts which is cool! Up for today we have Kayla Turvey, Kelsei Ingle, Jimikah Tawhara and Shane Gow, so fingers crossed they go well! Today we have announced the person who've got the top scores for homework: Olivia! And that's about it people.

1.12.09

Ok well, there are only like, sixteen days left of school. Yay! say most, except for the Year 8s who have to be the little kids again at high school. Nah it should be OK. Today we had Radio Broadcasts and they were pretty good, surprisingly. Joke.
Anyways today there was an incident in class. Don't look so worried not an accident. But KURT who was supposed to be concentrating on Maths was asked for a maths equation and usually there would be a really complicated answer, cause you know Room 14s academic level is REALLY HIGH, kinda. So you would expect something like 100- 36 = 8 x 8 or something but of course Kurt had to say , One Third is eating the crocodile. Quote of the day. Those words of wisdom.
Anywho we have Fancy Dress coming up and we all LOVE folk dancing. But remember to all you parents who are laughing right now, Year 8s get to choose someone to come and folk dance with them. Yeah, that wiped the smile off your faces. But another thing about Fancy Dress is that most people dress up, so check out these.

30.11.09 Man wasn't that fast? Just last week we did intensive and it was awesome! But on Thursday for the year 7's we did mass soccer. After that we had to read to the little kids in the juniors. I'm telling you it was so hard reading to them because they wouldn't listen, noone in particular OLI and TOBY! We deserved the fish and chips and man was that nice!!! Then on Friday we went to a farm where we did fun activities. It was so fun but very tiring and we went exploring up the hills which was fun too! Anyway the year 8's had a fun day on Thursday going to the gym playing basketball with 2 of NBA's famous players Shaq O'NEAL and KOBE BRYANT! Wouldn't that be awesome but they didn't, they were playing with Mr.Sheather and Mrs.Shaw! Then they went to the aquatic centre in Whakatane! What a fun day they had! Even better, the next day, which was Friday, they went to the skate park in Whakatane and the others went to Texas (known as Te Teko) for golfing. Isn't that......... fun! Tomorrow we have the first people for radio broadcast OLI is first up, You go OLI!!! Check out the photos of the intensive here.

24.11.09 Yesterday we had Barbara Kendall coming to our school to talk to us. It was really cool, funny and inspiring. We also did graphics with Mr.J! And yes he's back. The champ's back - CALEB ROBERTSHAW!!! Also everyone has finished their pick-a-paths! Yeah! We have swimming tomorrow yeah and that's about it!

23.11.09 Today we have a very famous person coming to our school! Barbara Kendall. She's going to come and talk to talk to us about motivation! Also we have Mr.J our tech teacher! He's going to come and we going to do some graphics. Caleb's back today, welcome back Caleb!

20.11.09 Well yesterday was athletics sports and half of Rm14 went, which was an excellent effort by us. But one of our main superstars Caleb was injured, due to a broken collarbone but he went to support Awakeri!!! We hope he gets better soon! Well the 12 minute run is done for the year. No more 12 minute runs anymore. YEAH!!! Congratulations to Josh KO's relay team which came first and to Ezra who also came first in high jump, wooo! Well the people who didn't make it to the interschool stayed back at school with Mr.Hawkes which was a fun day! So the interschool people and the people who didn't make it into interschool had a fun day! Well we have started our Radio Broadcasts which we've been getting along with very well and most of us have funny ideas. I can't tell you because it would just spoil it, wouldn't it! We have been practising on our softball skills and our first House games start today. It's between THE MIGHTY TAWA and Rata! We all know who is going to win, TAWA!

18.11.09 Today we had Mr.J over for graphics. Well for some people who don't know him, his our TECH teacher in Edgecumbe! It was very cool doing graphic designs!!! Well nearly all of us have finished our pick-a-paths which has been cool. We have been working on our softball skills because this term the final term for sport we're doing softball! Miss Robb has been in popping in our classroom and we've been doing stick drawing like the proportion of what you doing on athletics day and that has been very fun!

Here's Ben working hard and so is Taylah! Well done Chris is trying to be very precise or is he just hiding away from the camera?
Hey Dean! Hello, oh I'm sorry don't let me distract you! And this is what we did for graphics! Isn't this cool!

11.11.09 It was too successful, Zack! You just wait and see.
This is Suzzy for the report on the Room 14 movie.
This has it all... romance, nonsense music and the occasional ninja.
The basic storyline is this girl, Ladys Room (Kelsei Ingle) is trying to find her a group to join. The welcoming committee member, Vinnili (Jimikah Tawhara) is taking her around the school, looking at all the different things that are cool and not so cool about all the groups in the school. There is a special appearance by the Grey Fox (Barrie Hawkes). There is Josh and Kayla doing a hula. There is Kelsey in a beard. And get this... we even got Kelsey into a skirt and pink... AT THE SAME TIME! Oli does his dance to the famous Brittney Spears song, Hit Me Baby One More Time. There are two weddings. And Jimikah gets dumped for an ice cream. So watch out for this movie or the next time you see it, it might be at the Oscars.

9.11.09 I'm sorry to all my loyal fans! I've been busy with my pick-a-paths and I'm nearly done! Well last week we made stick drawings of people doing athletics. Miss Robb was with us last week Friday while Mr.Hawkes was booking a flight to Hawaii for the year 7&8's. Got you, he was just planning something for us year 8 and 7's. In Suzzy's movie Josh had to lip this song and it wasn't really that succesful. Our team beat Room 12's team in athletics again no surprises there!

06.11.09 Our monitor Zack has been 'busy' lately, so here's some news: The term has been busy with Ag Day, athletics etc. In between times we are working hard to get our pick-a-path stories published. Some of them are pretty amazing. They are a lot of work. Suzzy wrote a musical production last term. This term she is filming it. Some of our students get into some weird costumes for their roles, so it should be fun to see how it turns out!
Jason is well again and back with us. Quite a few people have had injuries lately. Be careful out there!! Especially Taylah, Cam, Jason...
Room 14 just managed to beat Room 12 in the relay last week, well that's after we whipped them on the first day! Caleb held off Sam Burgess. Yay !!
Spanish Kurt: "Yo soy guapo!" Blake: "Tu eres listo." Olivia: "Ella es alta." Como eres tu??
What are we doing in our breaks? Well lots of cricket, the ever popular stop rounders, tennis on the turf.

22.09.09
We have a bit of sad news. Jason had an accident and he is in Waikato Hospital. Get Well Soon, Jason.
Now for some good news.
Our Kapa Haka group performed on Saturday, and apparently they did quite a good job. Congratulations to Josh Ridley who achieved third for his whai korero. Yay. And we also have a bit of a Rubiks cube star in our class. Blake Cossey's record for these puzzles are 1 minute 22 seconds. And my record is... nothing. I can't complete them at all. Oh well.

16.09.09 Finally Caleb is here. He ran 3 km in the 12 minute run. No surprise there!
Yesterday we were playing this game where you have to throw a ball over the kick-ball wall and if the other team catches it you have to run away from them for 20 seconds and silly old Ben tried to put his whole body through this fence but the problem is he couldn't even get his head through the fence. So he got stuck but then with all the strength he had he pulled his head back, amazing! Then after a couple rounds later Ben does another silly thing, he goes behind the goal and he tries to fight the bush but then he gets caught by me! Silly Ben!

7.09.09 Today we just have finished our 12 minute run. Again Samuel Burgess has broken another record by running over 3 km!!! How does he do it? We want to know Samuel, how do you do it? Well the sad thing is that Caleb Robertshaw wasn't here, he would have been really disappointed! But on the other hand he doesn't know that we had the 12 minute run today! Also Kurt ran 3 km in 12 minutes and so did Samuel! Well done! Also next week we are having another 12 minute run for people who were absent like Caleb Robertshaw ( It's optional.). We have just got the the Trident books.

28.08.09 Last week we have started on our pick a paths. There are many ideas. Some of us have finished 3 pages of our pick- a- paths. And we have finished our Doodle for Google. 7 out of 13 that were chosen are from RM 14. Give a round of applause to Olivia, Suzy, Shjara, Caleb, Kurt, Taylah and Jen. We have started our practice for the production. Six of us from this class play a main part for the production! It's looking good. Well done rm14!!!
Today we have just finished getting all the data from the Maths surveys we did. We surveyed over 200 students on a whole lot of topics, like do they want a school uniform, what do they think about homework, etc. The results will be going up on our windows soon, so everyone can see. Some funny answers came through, e.g. Brooke is fascinated by puzzles. Her science fair topic was about who can do puzzles better, well, her questions were Do you like puzzles, and If yes, what type?
She had an answer saying yes, pepperoni and two more saying yes, vegetarian!!
Meanwhile, Kelsei was researching people's star signs. She had some funny answers, including Bob Marley! Oliver got a shock that so many people were voting for maths as their favourite subject.
Wait till all the results come out!

14.08.09 Today is the last day for the Singapore teachers here at Awakeri School! And also we flew our kites on Wednesday, here are the results of the kite flying!

Here are Josh and I attempting to get the wind in our faces. Ben is impressed! And here are Jennifer and Olivia trying to doing the same as us!

11.08.09 Today Hamish is suppose to interview the Singapore teachers but kind Mr. Hawkes is helping out Hamish, isn't Mr. Hawkes a kind man? We might do Te Reo to show the Singapore teachers the culture of the Maori race! And do you know they have more than 2000 kids over at their school and they have different races, like Chinese, Indian and Malaysian

7.08.09 Congrats Jennifer for wining the technology part of the Science Fair. We were demonstrations of some of the inventions. Ben Haultain's fizzy rocket, Emily Graham's spud gun (it didn't work because she must have sprayed too much dove spray, a spud gun is a male because it strong so why don't try Lynx Emily!) and last but not least Bradley Bateson's pressurized cannon( how cool.) Please give a round of applause for Kelsey Haddock and Briar and Jarrod for coming 3rd=, I bet it was a close one! Mostly rm. 14 probably did really well for the science fair. And we thought it was hard!

5.08.09 Well today we had to hand in our science fair projects, and everyone wrote about how sad they are that science fair is over.Well actually people wrote about how relieved they are that they finished ad handed it in! But I'm sure most of us enjoyed it. There is definitely a wide variety of projects. Fizzy Rockets, Chicken feeders, Potato and Lemon power.
And who is smarter, girls or boys? I'll have to put the answer to that on this page soon. Not that I have to check. I'm pretty sure it's going to be girls!

5.08.09. Well yesterday was tech. Some people made some robots and they looked so cool but sadly I didn't finish mine. They make me want to cry when I see them dance, play the guitar or just move around (oh the pain, it sucks!) I'll try and get some photos of the robots.

3.08.09 This week is Science Fair(oh man.) So all the projects we choose for the science fair should be quiet interesting, I think is on Tuesday or Wednesday? Just like cross country all the hard work will pay off! And also we have changed where we sit and guess what? I still at my place where I was in the beginning of the year and it's so ausome! I'm enjoying it but for Kayla it seems as she is getting tortured by Mr.Hawkes(keep it up Mr. Hawkes.) We are doing Observational drawing I know we must be lucky but we're not! Even for models, you have to sit or stand still for 12 minutes. Well that's all I have.

31.07.09
This week we have been doing Observational drawings.

27.07.09
This morning we set out to set off our hot air balloons. Most of the school came out to watch. Most of them had a good flight but some of them burst into flames. Click here to see photos!

21.07.09
Well we are back at the same old school with the same old, I mean our usual teacher and we are all ready for Term 3. One of the biggest events this year is this year's production... Sheik, Rattle and Roll. Congratulations to all those people in Room 14 who auditioned for a part and good luck to those who've got one, even though I'm sure you won't need it.
Yesterday, while half of the class was having a percussion lesson with Mr Hawkes, the other half were finishing off our paper hot air balloons with Mr Sheather. Here are some photos:

Vrinda, Jennifer and Brianna with their almost finished balloon.
Shayne and Blake seemingly unveiling Dean.

30.06.09 (LATER)
Sadly, we have just found out that Manawahe X Country has been cancelled because of the weather. It is supposed to be really horrible on Friday.
And here is a big thank you to Miss Robb for being such a wonderful teacher this term. I have really enjoyed how she was like one of us, laughing with us like she was a student. Hahahehe. And here is your promised thank you, Miss Robb:

Thanks heaps.....

30.06.09 Yay this week is the last week of school of term 2!!! We had a good term with Miss Robb (most of us did) and we got to do a lot of fun things and" play a lot of games!" Well today is supposed to be our day to go to tech but thanks to the rain, the Manawahe X Country team are not going, which means that we are not going to tech. All of us have finished our camp art, so yeah. I hope reward Friday is still on!???

26.06.09 Well done to Kurt who won the Senior Speech Contest for 2009!
We have just finished our study on FIREWISE and we are still studying flight.
We are now designing and creating our very own kites!
Science Fair is approaching fast, and Room 14 have some interesting ideas for projects from Coloured Twink to Water proof socks. Hopefully none of us leave everything until the last minute!

18.06.09 Well, the class speeches are over and today is the semi-finals.
Room 14's semi-finalists are (drumroll.....)

Kelsey Haddock- HPV
Kurt Turpie- Couch Potato
Shjara Dakin- Couch Potato
Jennifer Cram-WITs and Bullying
Josh Klein Ovink- David Beckham
Kelsei Ingle- Lunchbox Snacks
Blake Cossey- Couch Potato
Hamish Inwood- Food Pyramid

Congratulations to these speakers and Good Luck!

10.06.09 Now everyone has presented their speeches and boy am I glad that's over! We have learnt heaps ( well at least I THINK we have) and we have also had a lot of laughs! There was a great range of topics, from Couch Tomatoes to water safety to Bouncy Castle Slides.
Tomorow the Senior School is heading into town to watch the performance of "Grease". Most of us are excited and it will be a lot of help because we have our own production auditions coming up very soon!

4.06.09 Well I've done my speech. It was so hard! And trust me, going first is not easy and Suzzy I wasn't glad or happy either! Some cross country records held by Kurt Turpie, Kelsey Haddock and Taylah Bateson have been broken. '' Well all that fitness training we've been doing for weeks have paid off!!!"

28.05.09 Well, Cross Country is coming up next Wednesday and most of us have been pushing ourselves during practice. This afternoon we are going to be walking the track that we will (hopefully) be running next Wednesday. This morning we drew out the day and order we will be giving our speeches. First up on Tuesday is Zach. I bet he's glad!

22.05.09 Hey everyone. Recently we have been working on our camp art. It started as a sketch...until... Miss Robb told us to cut it in half! Then we put one half away, and painted it. Then we took the other half and painted it in weird and wonderful colours. Pink rivers...purple trees...green skies...blue pigs...anything! Then we glued them back together. Now most of us are up to collaging our people! This week has been different because the other senior classes are on camp. But we have been having some pretty good games of long ball during lunchtime. Now we are all (hopefully) well into our speeches for week 6.

15.05.09 Hey everyone, or should I say Hola! Today we had a short Spanish test and most people were happy with their results. How much Spanish do you guys know? Because Room 12 has camp next week, Room 14 are lucky enough to be going to Tech in Edgecumbe next Tuesday. At the moment we are studying Flight and we have to make a powerpoint on Aviation and Famous Aviators. It's pretty cool because we all are going to have original powerpoints and it will be fun to sharpen our computer skills. Also, the senior school have speeches in Week 6.

11.05.09. Hola people. Today we just learned the Spanish numbers from 10 to 20. Well I can't say it up to 20 in Spanish but I'm getting there. Guess what? Tomorrow we have Mrs Geor tomorrow. We are not having Miss Robb until this Thursday! We will struggle without Miss Robb. Today for maths we did something different besides numbers, addition, division and multiplication. We done things where you have to do the reflection, translate and rotate of a shape. It was so fun and we are allowed to make our own shape . How cool is that? Last week Friday we showed our seven wonders of the world to the entire school( it was freaky but fun at the same time.) Hopefully everyone finished their seven wonders of the world project. Right now everybody is doing their diary, how lucky, not! Well Rimu won the competition of Long ball against my team(Tawa.) Last week me, Cam and Bradley picked the teams for rugby. My team's name is the Awakeri Chiefs and Brad's team is the Blues and last but not least Cam's team Rumblers (all the team names are good except Cam's team , no offense.) OK Hasta la vista!

5.05.09. Hola! Yesterday some of us had our guitar test. We had to choose a song and sing it while we played it on the guitar. We didn't have to do it in front of an audience, just Mr Hawkes. But that doesn't mean it wasn't scary!Did he Drift away to the sound of our music while tapping his Blue Suede Shoes?
Or would he rather be Surfin' USA?

4-5-09. Hola guys this is the 2nd week of Term 2. This term is going to be big "with Miss Robb" teaching us and with BIG EVENTS coming up (cross country). Soon it'll be a busy and fun term. In 3 weeks time rugby is going to start. Miss Robb is training us to make us fit for cross country doing 12 minutes of running we will be fit and ready for cross country. Last week most of us had our first games ofweekend sport. Some of us play soccer and some of us play other sports. Cam and I aree in the same rugby team and won our match against Kawerau by forfeit. In maths we a learning new stuff (angles and shapes.) We also learning Spanish. I'll ask Mr. Hawkes (AKA our teacher and principal) if I could borrow some ones work and put it on students work. Ok now is the time where I say... Hasta la vista.

1.05.09 Hola and welcome back to Term 2! And didn't the first term go fast?
This term Room 14 is being taught by the one, the only.........MISS ROBB!Yay!!!
Mr Hawkes is our principal while Mr Fitz is in Singapore.
We finally got an email from Shane who is having a wonderful time on his trip. He has just spent 2 weeks in Egypt! He sent us a picture of him riding a camel!

9.04.09. Hi guys this Monday we had touch tournament against some other schools. It was fun but tiring . I had a tough day. After a game I had a 30 minutes break and had to ref a game. Some of the kids weren't listening but what can I say, they are just kids. It wasn't only me who had to ref games it was some of the other year 8 and year 7s from this school too. I bet we had a good night sleep. And today is the final day of school of this term (yeah.) Next term we have Miss Robb. Could this year get any better? Yes it can because today we have one hour of fun things to do, like play bullrush, Awakeri rules and other games. Also next term we get to do some fun stuff like to do science and make our own cartoons. This is the best class ever!

30.03.09 We're back from camp. Check out these cool photos! Scroll down to Students' Work to read some great bits from our camp diaries, like the best joke, the best court case, a girl doing lots of press ups, and Suzzy getting brain freeze....

17.03.09 (ST PATRICKS DAY) Hey everyone! Thanks for checking up on Room 14's web page. Yesterday, Miss Robb was relieving for Mr Hawkes. She told us about this cool challenge. We are going to enter a competition about ANZAC Day. We have to design a poster about 'What ANZAC Day Means to Me'. It's pretty cool, because if you design one of the Top 3 posters, you get to choose either to take your class to the Army, the Air Force or the Navy. Also the Top 12 get their posters published.
.........Just a couple of reminders:..................

Camp is coming up (24-27 of March).
Top School!!!(22nd March)
Here is a BIG THANK YOU to everyone for all the effort and time you have put into Top School so far. Update you again soon!

16.03.09 Hi guys . Last week Thursday and Friday were parent interviews and it seems everybody did a good job trying to please their parents. Good job guys. Today we have Miss Robb to fill in for Mr Hawkes. We have being trying to get some information on The Anzac Soldiers. I'll try to get someone's work so you can see them.

14.03.09 Hi guys, today and tomorrow are parents interviews. Hope all of the kids' parents in Room 14 are happy with their results. Well, just a minute ago Mr Hawkes just asked who wants to be the touch rugby captains of 2009 and there were many hands up. Also our camp is a couple of weeks away. Everybody is excited about camp.Everybody recited our Te Reo poem. No one has finished the whole poem yet but we managed to finish half of it. Some of us, including me, have another seven lines to go but at least everybody gave their best. Whoever finishes the whole Te Reo poem earns a house point.Go Tawa(that's my house team.)Bye for now, guys.

10.03.09 Well yesterday we went to the Ohiwa Harbour. We had fun there. We didn't find as many crabs as we thought we would have found. The mud crabs thought that they would out smart me but guess what, they didn't. We also found some prawns and shrimps.Later on we went to study the mangroves. Did you now that the tallest mangrove I found grew up to 94.5 cm. Pretty amazing.

5.03.09 Most of you would know that on Monday the senior syndicate is going on their science trip to the Ohiwa Habour. We are going to study the mud crabs and mangroves. We've already started collecting information about mangroves and a little about mud crabs in NZ.

25.02.09 Hey everyone! Thanks for checking up on Room 14's page!
The fundraiser went great, even though the weather wasn't!! Check the News Page for total coverage on how much we raised!
Scroll down to Students' Work to read some cool pieces about our Funraiser!

17.02.09. Hi guys. Got some news. Tomorrow is going to be funraiser day. It is going to be very exciting raising money. I hope my group raise a lot of money.
Guys did you watch Top Town. Well Whakatane is playing Greymouth, and another team which I don't know. But I hope Whakatane brings pride back home. Well go Whakatane. Well, see you guys later.

13.02.09 Well hello people.Well I have some fantastic and funny news for you guys.Well the seniors of Room14 were working on our funraiser. We had to check if we had any mistakes to fix up. So the other five groups went to practise but except my group [Awakeri's next top model]. We were working on our clothes to wear to the assembly. So we decided to show the class without practising it. We got on with it and people were laughing so they decided to vote for us so we can show the whole school.Well that's the news from us. The song that we played for our practice was by Fergie.

12.02.09 Susannah and I, Zac, are this year's website monitors for Room 14. We have class news for all you people who are checking up on room 14's page . We Room 14 students are doing Koru family art.

Camp Diaries:

We set off for camp with everyone in high spirits, high expectations and high energy levels. We arrived at camp and received a warm welcome from the Blair Lodge dog Bree. We had our standard introduction to camp, then ran off to explore. Kunekune piglets, donkeys and children all squawked together to make a big blur of...of... noise! After some laughs and debates about cabins, we shot off to Katikati to do some orienteering. Katikati is so awesome, decorated with history. After that we headed to the river, hoping for warm refreshing swim. IT WAS SO COLD I GOT BRAIN FREEZE!
Mr Hawkes' corny joke of the day: What did one statue say to the other statue? Statue bro?"
Susannah Williams
Today was so cool, we went to the gold mine! But the bummer was this morning. We had to wake up at 6.30! At the gold mine we held a piece of gold, which was 1 ounce. We went to a museum in Waihi. There was this cool tool called a cam. It was like a sort of rock crusher. I would say it's like pistons in a car except a lot bigger.
Josh K
Last night we had mock court. Olivia's dad was the judge, Kelsei's dad was the jester and Blake was the prosecutor. There were many funny convictions, but the best would have been Kurt's story. He would wake everybody up in his cabin about 3 - 4 am. His punishment was to tell us a 2 minute story and that was funny! After mock court we had supper, then went to bed. Then it was leaving day. It was sad to leave Blair Lodge, but we were going to Waimarino!
Caleb Robertshaw

Friday was probably my favourite day at camp. We set off quite early in the morning to Waimarino. There we would spend the rest of the day pushing our friends off poles and jumping off really high things. When we arrived we changed into our togs then had to sit in our cold wet togs listening to ALL the rules. I almost Froze to death! Speaking of Freezing, we weren't allowed to say either 'cold, freezing or can't'. We also couldn't run, which was very hard for me. Guess what happened if we broke those rules? We had to do press ups. In the end I did 30, but I was supposed to do an extra 40! My favourite activity was the slide. I zoomed down at top speed, then ker-plunk! I flew straight into the water. I had so much fun at Blair Lodge and I wish we could go again.

Fun Raiser

Shamalamadingdong

Ring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The next second, what seemed like a billion kids rushed towards the various stalls of the Senior Fun Raiser. For the first 5 minutes, everything was a blur of slushies, faces, sherbet, voices, fudge and $2 coins. After that first 5 minutes, we had settled into a routine. Kelsey H. and I spent the first 20 minutes whizzing ice for slushies. It sounds weird but our hands were burning cold!!! Oh, and, note to self...
If you leave ice on the floor and not in the chilly bin, it WILL melt into a swimming pool!!!
I could probably walk through the cloak bay and dodge every object blindfolded, because I ran through it so many times delivering slushies. The most fun part was definitely counting the money! I can't wait till camp!!! =)

Susannah Williams

Cleaning up after the Fun Raiser.

I started to shift the desks and caused the paper covering them to tear. I decided to make sure that the wall wasn't dirty and to my suprise there was jam and cream on the wall. I talked to Kelsei Ingle about it and we had a good laugh. I used a serviette to wipe it off. I thought my job was done until I saw the Raro spilt on the floor. I got to work cleaning that.
''I'm finished,'' I said to no one in particular.
We passed inspection and went inside to finish our slushies.

Olivia Smits

Fund Raiser
My favourite part in the Fund Raiser would have to be working in the group called Sponge Bob Face Wack. The first customer that came to the stall was a five year old. He gave us 30 cents and picked me to sponge. I went up behind the board and stuck my head through the hole. He threw the sponge and it hit me right on the head. I felt the water running down inside my shirt. The kid smiled and laughed then ran off. After that we had heaps of kids coming and splatting us with sponges. In the end we raised $27.70 and Sponge Bob on the board was mostly washed off!

Kurt Turpie

Teacher's Message
Well we're into term four now, and lots happening. We've been working hard on our pick-a-path stories. Suzzy has been filming her musical production too. Some pretty crazy scenes in it!! Well done everyone on the athletics efforts. Caleb Robertshaw smashed an old 1500m record after a great tussle with Sam Burgess. Good one!!

Want to check out last year's page? It was cool. Click here: 2008.
