Fancy Dress 2015

The orchestra gets there early and warms up. Here are Noah, Tessa, Rhylee, Bonnie-Marie, Keeley, Alex and Amelie practising. The woodwind, violin and brass sections! Amelie, Liam, Theresa, Millie and Emily.
Fancy Dress night always brings out an impressive range of costumes. Reaf and Ben are in tune with each other. The night gets under way. Kate Robbie leads the orchestra. A packed crowd of parents, grandparents, siblings and ex-pupils attend.
The grand parade. The year eights lead off. At their tail end (!) was Emily Robbie with her costume impressing Miss Reeve and year 7s Campbell Forsyth and Troy Wilson. The Gay Gordons is a traditional dance for the seniors. Meadow Howe gets to dance with the beautiful Matthew Reihana-Asquith!
Each syndicate had their items to perform. Here are the juniors. Mrs Geor helps her group through their item. This was Jocelyn Geor's last Fancy Dress, she retired at the end of the year.
The year eights and the middle school enjoy watching some items. There were presentations and awards. Marilyn Sisam is given a farewell gift by the BOT's Kerry Looney and Rhonda Webb.
Ann Petersen is having a year's leave. Margo White was re-awarded her diploma of library studies.
Marco Turner and Nicole Curtis spoke well on behalf of the departing year eights. Everyone, including Mr Fitz, enjoyed the slideshow of the year eights.
The year eights, led by Gene brown and Reaf Bruce, then responded with a fierce haka to acknowledge the school and everyone gathered there. The night was over. Keeley Lawton (on left) was happy to be one of the three (with Ethan Patterson and Kevin Paulsen) to receive the principal's award. Here she is with Shallan Keighley.
Bloopers? No, but it is always entertaining to see who gets paired up with who for the seniors' dances. This is the moment Meadow Howe and Ethan Cavey realise they are each others' partners!
