~Top School 2019~

On the Friday before Top School, Awakeri's cheerleaders put on a wonderful display for the school. Any other school would have to be amazing to beat them! The senior students did the choreography for the all the routines.	This one is part of the High Hopes dance. Their high hopes came true!
Top School day! The gala games were enjoyed by many, despite the drizzle.	Tarawera College are already wet as they line up to start the Castle event.
Awakeri's first event is Up Up and Away. Some great throwing from Jake to Ben, ...	and some excellent shooting from Ben saw us get 76 points in the ten minutes
A number of other schools had cheerleaders. Thornton's were very good.	A new event this year (well actually an old event from years ago) was the Dragon Boats. Te Teko get ready for their turn.
Awakeri's cheerleaders are all in time... they helped Awakeri's team to do really well.	Awakeri are at Stitch In Time, they did well, being a fit team.
Meanwhile, the quick fire raffles are being sold. Christian is on the deck of the truck.	A big crowd is watching Up Up and Away. There are lots of tennis balls that didn't make it into the drums!
Rainy days means share an umbrella! Fiona and her two boys are happy to do that!	Happiness is... buying cuddly toys at the garage sale! Angus, Joseph and Joel.
The end of the day. Awakeri's cheerleaders take out first place from Galatea then Thornton.	Finally the team winners are announces. Its.... Awakeri. Kendall, Sophie, Phoebe and Joseph race up to the stage.
Mr Fitz in his final Top School (he has run them for 34 years!!!) hands over the shield to Awakeri.	Phoebe, Kendall, Joseph, Sophie, Reghan, Jon, Ben Jake, Ella and Codi.
