~Awakeri School~

~Top School 2007~

Our team was: Jayden Haddock, Guy Kamphorst, Pete Dowden, Alex Christensen, Taylah Bateson, reserve: Matthew Orr-McKeown; Jemma Shaw, Zoe Johnston, Zara Fowell, Kelli Patterson, Meron McCardle reserve: Emma Magee.
We did really well, coming 3rd for the second year running. Our cheerleaders came 3rd too! Rangitaiki Independent School won the primary section and over-all, while Te Teko won the intermediate section.

There was a big crowd to watch the events and enjoy the gala activities, the plants, food stalls, garage sale etc Our team did extremely well on their first event, the horizontal bungee. Here's Zoe sliding back after throwing the ball into the drum,
Jemma and Jayden led the team through the hard out Stitch in Time. Jemma is making sure the team works their butts off! Total concentration as Jemma threads the giant needle through the eye.
Meron and Pete work hard as part of the team. Lots of things happen at Top School. There was even a moon fish to guess the weight of. It weighed 49.2 kg!
