~Awakeri School~

~Top School 2005~

Our team was: Matthew Bateson, Matthew Reeves, Tony Sellars, Vincent Sheather, James Holani, reserve: Ben Hancox; Vikki Lowndes, Leah Maxwell, Katherine Hall, Chelsie Pettinger, Indiana Brown, reserve: Asher Jones.
The coaches were Mrs Merry and Mr Hawkes. We did well, coming 4th. Hey we don't want to win every year! Whakatane Intermediate won, with Thornton winning the primary section.

James Holani aims straight on the Horizontal Bungee Leah starts her run up the slippery Bungee course.
Matthew Reeves leads the way in the Stitch In Time. Katherine brings up the rear. Here's Matthew again, sprinting to empty his container in the Watchorns castle event.
The cheerleaders give it heaps. Te Rina (right) and Carlene were the leaders of the cheerleaders.
Neville Prout watches his customers at the coconut shy. The confetti filled eggs were a great novelty. Leah paid to crack hers over Mr Hawkes's head.
Matthew Bateson was a good shot in the Up Up and Away event. Leah rides the Dragon Boat. The off centred wheels made it a rocky ride.
