The Awakeri School Swimming Sports

March 2012

Bailey Tawa is almost as good as Kowhai!
The swimming sports are about to start. Bailey is hoping for some sun and is wearing his house colours. Tawa's enthusiastic supporters... Jenna, Sharnaye, Millie, Lauren and Sam. Tawa did well to win the house relay at the end of the day, just holding off Kowhai in a close finish.
Brady Jenna
Brady did well in the back stroke and freestyle. Jenna is about to surface and compete in the backstroke race.
Keely Tom
Keely powers up the pool. Tom had some good battles with liam during the day.
Ethan
The start of the 12 year old boogie board race. Ethan sends the spray flying as he goes up the pool.
Linette Sarah
Linette has trouble staying on her boogie board. Sarah manages to even give the photographer a smile!
Felicia
Breast stroke is tricky, but looks beautiful when done well. Time for the 'nicest dive' competition. Felicia has a go.
Nice entry into the water by Jenna, with judges Mrs Petersen and Ms Sisam watching closely. The rescue squad won't be needed for this diver. A big thank you to Miss Robb for organising a great swimming sports.
