Speech Contest finals

Keri Swart drew the short straw and had to speak first in the finals. She did very well and pushed the place getters hard. Christine Scott's facials as Steve Irwin, the crocodile hunter were amazing. She gave couch potatoes the message!
Christine gets Kelly Stanton laughing, even though Kelly can't see her face! The judges found Karlene Robert's speech on self confidence very convincing.
In the audience, Simon Barr and Jordan Macdonald are amused while waiting for the judges to deliberate. Max Butler certainly must have got points for originality with his speech on safety while bird watching!
Kelly Stanton's points on safety while bungee jumping raised lots of laughs. The splattering of eggs to illustrate her points caused the nearer members of the audience to flinch! Max Butler warning of the dangers of nesting magpies...
Michelle Whyte got the nod of agreement from dentist judge John Twaddle when she talked about hockey safety. Judge Twaddle also likened Renee's voice to that of Mae West!
Alice Brogden is right into her topic (motocross safety) and the judges liked it. 3rd place! And the winner is... Karlene Roberts!
Out of 85 speakers, here were our grand 9 finalists... The place getters... Alice, Christine and Karlene.
