Science Fair 2019
Scroll down for the results of the Awakeri Fair and the BOP fair.

Our science and technology fair looked amazing. Here are some senior students looking at all the 66 exhibits. This year most of them were science, with only 8 technology projects. Summer Jones was highly commended for her investigation into keeping bread fresh.
Sam Whiteman and Katelyn Peterson studied how much horses walked around at night time. Vaughan Hathaway solved his problem of having no power when he is away caamping. A three-D printer built his exhibit.
Sophie Spod always looks alert, no matter how much screen time she has... oh hang on, ask her dad! Nathan John made a neat UV tester.
Nathan Reihana-Asquith tested out cricket flour in baking. Kaleb Grindrod compared plant based meat with 'normal' meat.
Worm pee was a good testing direction for Cody Archer. At prize giving Mr Mac, with help from Mrs Derbyshire and Mr Hawkes, handed out the certificates and prizes. Ryan Somerville gets Commended.
Samantha and Katelyn come second in science. Kaleb comes first. The high placegetters got some very cool prizes from Fonterra, Oji and REAP House of Science, as well as money.
The technology place getters: Joseph Spalding, Nathan and Vaughan. Vaughan and Kaleb with their trophies. Check out all the past winners on our Academic Archives page.
