Science Fair

2013
Scroll down for the results and the EBOP results.

Caroline Emily
There were several science entries on milk, Caroline gained a second place with her one. Five of our judges were from Fonterra, so they would sure know what to look for in these projects! It's great what you can create in the technology section. Emily's strawberry lip balm was very successful.
Finn Georgia
Finn's window wiper for back seat passengers was very popular with the viewers. He had a spray bottle so you could have 'rain' on your window, then you got to wipe it off. Frustrations with school buses? No more with Georgia's app for tracking your bus. Missed it? Nope, it's just running late! A great idea, and first place!
Lachlan
Lachlan was equal first with his science entry on moulds. He wowed the judges with his depth of knowledge on the topic. Here are three of our land yacht developers in the Year 7 Project section. Nicholas's work on design etc won him first place. However, we had a testing session and Matthew's horizontal sail yacht was the fastest!
Linette Lucille
Testing candles was a popular topic this year too. Linette did some great testing in her entry. Lucille was equal first in science with a very fully done study on cupcake ingredients.
Ryan Sarah
Ryan made his biking on the road safer by equiping his bike with flashing lights. Something like that might help make all cyclist's safer. Lots of viewers enjoyed seeing his lighting system working. Sarah has a great display for her science entry on soils. You can hardly tell the real bean stalks from the drawn ones!
Michael
Prize Giving time. Here are the winners from the Year 7 Project section. Michael receives his commended certificate from Mr Hawkes. Courtney is enjoying the awards!
Science winners Jenae struck gold!
First equal in Science! Lucille Smits and Lachlan Butler! Jenae might have got Highly Commended at our science fair, but at the EBOP Fair, she got GOLD! Plus the Best Food Related Entry.
