Rugby World Cup 2011

Awakeri Rugger World Cup opening ceremony. Spot the Aussie!
A big crowd of parents and supporters turned out for the opening of Awakeri's Rugby World Cup on Friday 9 September.
All the kids assembled ready to get ready to go to the opening ceremony. Each of the twenty countries had two ambassadors, who organised the people in their country to make flags, paint faces, learn greetings, etc etc. Here are three young Samoans!
Cambell Julian Mekaela is a SBW fan!
Cambell is representing Georgia. Next to him is the Scottish Manaia! Here is the Tongan team, led by Mekaela and Centreece.
Ashleigh and Tiaan, tino ataahua!
What a handsome pair of leaders of the New Zealand team! Tiaan and Ashleigh. Some people need a bit of advice. Kaia Skipps is helping Keanen Dyson.
Emily is a Canadian! Abbey the Queen of England!
Emily and her fellow Canadians look good in their colours! The Queen of England Abbey Coventry, followed by that well known pom Sammy.
Kerry Looney opening the Cup An Aussie! Monica Julian.
Kerry Looney declares the games open. In the background is the main organiser Peter Sheather. He did a great job getting the ambassadors organized and planning the day. Thanks Mr Sheather! Here she is! In the crowd we spot Monica Julian being proud of being an Aussie!
Now the games are on! England are working hard together, towing the heavy tyres around the track. Accurate kicking by Danielle Ruiter. Go Romania!
Concentrate, concentrate. Samoan Jake Rowling kicks for goal. Frank Butler throws the ball accurately for NZ.
Felicity
Ollie and Matthew are running hard so Georgia do well in the shuttle run. Felicity and Marshall lead their Scottish team in the towing race.
Now the games are over. Room 4 close the games with an awesome haka. Upane! Ka upane, whiti te ra! Hi! Then we sang the NZ national anthem because we all ( oops, except Monica) really want NZ to win the Cup! But now we also have another country that we "belong" to.
