Room 14 Blair Lodge Camp

1 - 4 March 2011

An overturned petrol tanker near Katikati meant we went to the river for the afternoon on our first day. Some of the boys found pipes and hoses and created some cool water systems from the waterfall. Anyone want a shower??	Bea the dog enjoyed fetching a stick for anyone. Karai gave him plenty of exercise! Jump in Ravneet, it's cool!
The boys made a dam. Dillon is carrying a rock to help out!	Back at camp we played lots of creative games, like tramp dodge ball, while we waited for the road to Katikati to be cleared. In the end, it reopened at 5 pm, 11 hours after the crash! Jump Luisa!
On the Wednesday we went to Martha Mine. Here is Janine talking to us about the open pit mine.	Here is the opening of their underground mine. This is as close as we got.
A dump truck bringing waste rock to the tailings dam.	After the museum, we went by train to Waikino. Making the cars and trucks toot was one activity to keep us entertained.
Cool glasses Katy, Margo, Jess, Rob and Mark!	Now its subway time! Matty, Tom and Dan make their delicious sandwiches.
After a walk around the stamper battery, we are back at camp. Jess got really good at archery.	Tom did well too, under Shane's watchful eye.
Fletcher and Shane play foosball.	New it's Thursday. The game of Murder went well. Shane won "best death" with this effort.
Crossing the river. Ravneet doesn't bother with rock hopping.	Aaron gets across safely.
So does Shane. Hannah is seeing who she can help across.	One of the things to spot on the treasure hunt - a tree fungus.
Now it's blindfold identify the tree time. Karen takes Shane towards a tree.	Sapphire Springs. Bronwyn and the parents keep the ball off the kids.
Nikoli and Edgar are after Robert.	Back at camp, the BMXs come out.Jalen shows good style over a bump. Tom wasn't so lucky!
Matty gets some air.	Aaron impresses on the tramp.
Now it's mock court time. The audience are having lots of fun	Daniel is found guilty of wasting the head chef's good cooking, by throwing up. His punishment is to reenact his performance at Martha Mine!
Look who's on the jury! Millie, Mekaela and Nikoli.	Now prosecutor Matty has Nikoli in the dock.
Friday, the last day of camp. We're at Waimarino, battling away in the body zorbs.	Rob comes racing down the water slide.
Mekaela is about to hit the water. Hang on to your mat!!!	Mark is hanging on.
Now his daughter Lauren flies down the slide.	Jess takes a leap off the diving board, under the watchful eye of Mike.
Ravneet goes round the low ropes course.	On the gladiators' pole Tom and Dylan fight it out.
Now we're almost onto the water. The seas kayaks are tricky to get ready.	Mikayla is controlling her boat well.
