Awakeri School

Room 12 Blair Lodge Camp

6 - 9 March 2007

Day 1. We are orienteering around Katikati. Zara and Kelli try and cheer Barry up. He's a Kiwi bloke. The kunekune pigs got their exercise trying to get away from Renko, Nimai and others. They also fought at night outside cabin 4 and got the girls into trouble!
Watch out Rod, here come the snorklers. Its a long walk back to camp, specially if you're wearing flippers, eh Stephen!
Day 2. Joel shows how not to fall in the river while keeping your treasure hunt sheet dry. Ben did the best death in the murder game. He landed with a heavy thud on the way down from the "look-out".
There are some big epiphytes. Tick that off on the treasure hunt. Leah gets a boost at the "look-out" so she can see clearly over the Tauranga Harbour. "You've got three more seconds, " says Mr Hawkes.
Kerrie McIntyre and Renko battle it our in the pool during some free time at Sapphire Springs. Jesse shows good skills in getting the ball back to the boys.
Pyramids being built in the lunch break. Don't throw the frisbee near the newly painted pool! Guy and Rod get it out without touching the paint.
Back at Blair Lodge. The boys beat the girls at archery. Emma and Jesse have their turns. Nimai and Yvonne watch closely. Emma shoots her air pistol at the target.
" Oh so thats how you do it," thinks Kelsi.
Jas meets Jazz near the end of the confidence course. Joel sliced his foot open on the not-so-confidence course. Remember to keep your shoes on Joel! The nurses all have a look.
Cody gives Emma a pointer in her card game with Jasmine. Day 3. Zara and co have a fun bus trip to Martha Mine.
Our Martha Mine guide Janine shows us a quartz rock that has silver and gold in it. Rachael feels rich. Thats $1000 worth of gold.
Never a dull moment on the bus. Here's Aimee giving Thomas's hair yet another make-over. Room 12 on tour. We thought we were tall till we met this truck.
Waving to the cars, getting the trucks to toot. Its good fun on the train. Alicia soars down the flying fox.
The chickens always turned up at meal times. Zoe and Zara make friends. What's going on here!? Mike Dowden gets a make-over. He was found guilty at the mock court for having a sponge bag with roses all over it.
Prosecuter Aimee and Judge Kamphorst get their first victim, Cody, up to face trial. Guilty! The audience enjoy the mock court.
The oh so beautiful and slim ladies in red are called to the jury. Then Kerrie is had up for breaking eggs and trying to cover it up. Guilty! Jemma tries to talk her way out of her trouble. The judge doesn't seem interested!
Rachael and Tyler are found guilty of hogging the tramp. Guilty. "Now you can dance together, while I sing," announces Judge Rod. Mary Kerei is guilty of having a birthday and not telling anyone!
Day 4. Last day. The boys clean out their freezer. Look. An ice water balloon! No wonder they got prosecuted last night for freezing everything! Our Waimarino instructor, Luke, helps Tyle do up the spray skirt before teaching him how to be rescued from an upturned kayak.
This is how you come up! Leah gives her hair a stylish flick! Liam tries out the new low ropes course.
Nimai pats the big tame eel. Caught running! Kelsi and partner Aimee do their ten press-ups.
Nice flip Tyler. Aimee is braver than her teacher, jumping off the ultra high. It's 12 metres down.
Zoe races down the water slide. Only 0.7 seconds till you hit the refreshingly chilly river! Christine gets ready to do the ultra.
Make sure you pin drop off the ultra! Joel does well. He's still wearing his bandage from the confidence course accident. Don't do it like Kirsty, remember!
Here we all are on the last morning, about to leave Blair Lodge. Are we sad? No, because we're off to Waimarino! Bye bye kunekune piglets.
