Rooms 11, 12, 13, and 14 Science Trip to Otarawairere Bay
February 2013

Otarawairere Bay
On Friday all 110 senior students walked from West End over to Otarawairere to do our Rocky Shore field trip. Here is Otarawairere waiting for us. The rock pools have been uncovered, it's nearly low tide.
We all find a pool to study. We have to identify animals, observe them, count them, measure the temperature, etc We were comparing high tide pools with low tide pools.
Caitlin
Caitlin finds a camouflaged crab. Do you know it hooks seaweed onto hooks on its back? Blake is getting help from Emma's dad to identify the shellfish he's found.
Marshall
Marshall works hard at his studies. We found a few octopi. They were probably happy when we left!!
