Wairaka Marae stay 2010
The whole school went to stay, or visit Wairaka Marae, 9 - 12 November

Karanga mai!!! Room 13 are singing beautifully as they call rooms 12, 7 & 6 onto the marae on Thursday. Ashley and TAYLAH are leading the visitors on with their karanga. Our awesome teacher Siri is there in the front too.

Murriwai's mean crib. Muriwai's cave actually, with Ms Sisam talking to the classes about this special place. Andrea being a brilliant teacher, helping the little kids with their harakeke weaving.

SHJARA teaching Sam how to make a flax flower. Look at those teaching skills! "So you go like this, then this and this." Sam Holani is very patient teaching Hayley.

Whaea Siri is patient too. She's helping Ethan with his work. "E Aue!" Learning the rakau was cool fun! Miss Geerlings and partner keep in time.

Having fun!! Karaitiana did really well teaching his group of four for the day. WOOH look at those rakau fly! Daniel P get his seven year olds going strong.
E aue room 11 String games Mekaela
If you look closely you will see Mr Hawke's primo hat (well you don't have to look that closely it's rather huge). Room 11 are nearly all in time. Learning string games was awesome! Mekaela's group had heaps of fun learning.

And these cool as people brought you the comments on this page! They also did an awesome job helping Siri throughout the week. Tino pai Shjara and Aroha!! The waka shelter down by the water has got some amazing carvings on it, plus the Mataatua and Hine Moaana waka to look at.
