Kapa Haka 2016

After two terms of after school practices, we had two days of intensive in school time and finished it off with a concert for our families. Here is everyone singing the action song. The boys did very well in the haka. "Ka mea Ihu, ko ahau te huarahi...". Ethan, Vinnie and Tawharangi are in the front row.
After a loud chant at the end it's...pukana! Afterwards people were invited to speak. Whaea Andrea decides to have her say too. It was great to see our tutor from years ago (before Andrea's late mum Siri) Virgil Hills in the audience. Virgil. Congratulated the group on their reo and especially the leaders on their work.
The 60 strong kapa haka opened the production. Whakaaria Mai.
Ben Olifiers and Tawharangi Davis led the haka There are lots of young kapa haka members.
The poi was beautiful. Leaders Tayor Skipps and Tayla Jones set the example. The ultra-violet lights transform the poi.
Anei he rau harakeke e.... It is a united group The chant is loud and spectacular to finish.
