Kapa Haka 2005

Pictures from the Rangitaiki Festival

(see also the Production page)

The nerves are high! It's 8am and we're on in an hour. Andrea uses her hairdressing skills to get Haylie ready. Liam, our boy leader, is looking splendid in the beautiful cloak, a wonderful koha from the Matthews family. Our leaders are leading from the front: Liam, Haylie and Katherine.
Our waiata-a-ringa went really well. The harmonies in the poi were fantastic.
The girls get lively in the poi. Tino ataahua to pukana Asher! The group supports Liam after his whaikorero, with a waiata, "Hua noa te hakiri o ..."
"Tau ka tau, aaa hi!" Liam gets the haka line going. Hamuera, Ollie, Luke & Joshua. Nice pukana boys!
