Kapa Haka 2004

Pictures from the Rangitaiki Festival and dress rehearsal

Tahi, Rua, Toru, Wha PUKANA! Our kapa haka leaves the stage amidst cheering, applause and tears. This is our fantabulous Poi that came 3rd. He manu tino koi!
Liam scored highly with his whaikorero, the highest in the novice section In the action song E Te Tau, the big wahine had to hongi and ruru with the tama tane. Pera, Jordan, Ngahuia, Liam, Julia and Wayne don't mind though.
Here goes the haka. Jordan and Liam are strong warriors. The boys are all in time!
Odd socks even! The Kapa Haka prepare for the show. Julia, Jordyn, Ngahuia & Ihipera Siri, our wonderful tutor, makes sure everyone is ready for the big performance.Andrea has even put braids in her hair!
Hannah and Ngahuia can see the funny side of most things! This was in the dress rehearsal. Liam leads the haka with plenty of power.
Ohhh! Don't fall asleep Rorey. Our girl leaders Ihipera and Rorey. Okay, even I can't deny it. They do look very nervous.
Oh don't they make a cute couple! Ihipera and Jordan hongi in the action song. No, Te Rina isn't trying to impersonate a bird. She's doing the poi.
