The day opens with the open 1500m. The girls' race was a fantastic duel between Olivia Nolan and Tayla Jones, with Tayla nicking it in the end. The boys race was hard fought too. Codi Laurent leads Caden Laurent and Cambell Julian round the bend.	Lots of runners entered, of all ages.

The interschool athletics went very well at Edgecumbe. The Awakeri teachers had to run the long jump in a very dodgy long jump pit, but apart from that it was all good. Here are Graceyn, Ayla and Katie taking off in a sprint race. The Te Teko girl has had a bad start!	Ben Olifiers winds up for the discus throw.
