AWAKERI SCHOOL
PRESENTS.....

Sheik Rattle n Roll
Music by: Ian Dorricott
Script By: Simon Denver

Out in the green room, everyone is getting ready for the next show. Here's Kayla putting on her make up for kapa haka, then she'll race back and change it for being a palace guard. We had a young audience for our Wednesday matinee. They had lots of laughs. They enjoyed booing the baddies as well!
First up were the kapa haka. Here are our wonderful two leaders Kelsei and Josh. Look at the pukana! Princess Jasmine (Jennifer Cram) hopes she'll be rescued from the tower by her prince, or, well anyone really! She sings to the moon.
The Lost Legionnaire (Briar Walker) has found Prince Abcess (Hamish Inwood). She'd probably wish she stayed lost! No, she ended up being the King! Here's the prince (Jarrod Hall) delivering one of his many many speeches! "People of Araby, don't let your conjunctivitis...."
"I will lead you!! I am a champion swordsman!" Is this a Tui billboard?? This is Jarrod Hall the 'good prince' of Araby The guards battle with the thieves for control of the Kingdom of Araby.
Those two British explorers (Katy Rose White and Nikoli Christensen) cross the desert sands. "Can't complain, can't complain!" The Lost Legionnaire (Briar Walker) wanders onto the stage at random intervals and uses her 'singing' to advantage.
"Can't you see I love you?" sings Jarrod. 'Not even' thinks Jen, she has her back turned.... but then she sings, "Tell me that you love me too...." The guards get round the small problem of the prince being a champion swordsman. Next they turn to guns and then cannons!
Abbey Patterson shows us how to dance nicely, Arabian style... Mr Fitz shows us how NOT to dance in any style!
The sorceress Patchouli (Aroha Ridley) tries to see the future. Some people don't believe she can acually do that! Mr Warehouse (David KO) sings "Roll on, roll up" trying to get more customers.
